How will my gown be cleaned?
When we receive your gown, it is thoroughly inspected by our cleaning professionals for stains, damage and anything else that might affect the preservation process. Beads and other trim are tested for cleanability and minor rips or tears will be repaired if requested. Your gown is then expertly pre-spotted and assessed as to whether it can be safely dry cleaned or wet cleaned. With both types of cleaning we exclusively use Sanitone products. (Recommended by leading designers worldwide) With Sanitone, colours are brighter, and whites are whiter. After cleaning, the gown is scrupulously inspected again before being carefully hand finished. We take the time to make sure your gown is as beautiful as the day you first wore it. You will be called to come and inspect the gown before it is put in its special Heirloom preservation box, which is made from acid free paper. At this time you may bring any other items that you wish to keep with your gown e.g.: veil, headpiece, gloves, purse, ring pillow etc.

What if my gown has gone yellow with age?
At Finchdale Custom Cleaners we have the experience and ability to restore your gown to its natural colour. There is an additional charge for this service as it is a highly specialized, time-consuming process.
